encouraging students to think and problem solve through experimentation and inquiry
The best advice I'd give a new science teacher would be...
Don't "spoon feed" students. They need to be actively engaged in developing the big ideas and writing their own notes, using their own words. Careful when using digital projectors during the lesson, they can create a passive learning environment where students are simply copying large amounts of text. Keep the "science" in science....demos, demos, demos!!
