Osmosis Potato Lab--With a Pumpkin Twist

For those Biology 12 teachers that may use the AP Osmosis Lab with Bio 12 classes, my colleague and myself have revamped the lab to be much less costly.  We use pumpkins discarded after the Grade 8 pumpkin carving contest and little pill vials to contain the pumplin cores in the different sugar solutions. Works great and the vials are reusable forever!

Science is in the News every day. There are so many strategies you can use to make teaching Science fun.
The best advice I'd give a new science teacher would be...
Organize all the tools you collect from colleagues and workshops into a well organized toolbox so that you can easily access them. Share with others and the pay off will come back to you.
I'd like to connect with other members about...
What you would like to see in a future senior Biology 12 curriculum....
