As you look at this "draft" Table of Contents, we'd like to ask 4 questions

1. Anything missing in terms of topics or content?

2. Anything to add that would help prepare the kids for Physics 12?

3. Should we follow the "old Provincial Exam" on the rules for Significant Figures?

4. For kinematics, should we use labs with ticker tape timers or probeware?

I'll add my two cents worth...I prefer the probewares over the tickertape.  I prefer that students utilize current technologies that they are also more likely to use in their advanced studies and/or workplace.

I wonder whether schools can afford the 'new technologies'. I haven't used probeware, so I can't comment on it. It looks good in the catalogues.

However, the ticker tape system is already in schools (I assume) and is not 'black boxy'. I would be inclined to use the very simple ticker tape method, then (if my school can afford it) let them learn the more 'high tech' method.

I do not have the impression that a lot of dollars are available for new equipment. Students at the Grade 10 level sometimes tell me that they seldom use any kind of equipment, apparently because of perceived  time constraints (provincial exam in Sc 10). If that is generally true, it is a shame.

I agree about the black-boxiness. I prefer ticker tape for physicis 11 at least for beginning kinematics.  Seems more visual/kinesthetic.  I do use photogates etc for later labs (momentum conservation on airtracks).

Is Hooke's Law included in Friction and Other Forces?
