This is a forum for Physics teachers and future BC Science Physics Test Drive teachers to share feedback and collaborate.

Lionel Sandner will be your BC Science Physics liaison, posting content, asking questions, sharing thoughts on behalf of the development team at Edvantage Interactive. BC Science Physics 11 authors will be part of this community - they will share their thoughts on the development process, & encourage discussion on the content of the WorkText.

At any time - ask a question of Lionel or one of the authors, share what's happening in your class, maybe even post some good links, videos for others to share

Energy in a pendulum (SHM) 2 Replies

Okay, I have a small problem. Treating a pendulum as a simple harmonic oscillation, And using           v(max)=A (omega) you get                   v(max)=A (sqrt(g/L))  But using conservation of…Continue

I am in the middle of re-writing our centre's Physics 11 tests and I am getting really tired of entering question after question into ExamView.  Does anyone have any suggestions as to a decent test bank for Physics 11?  I was considering the new Nelson but I am not familiar with it?  I would really appreciate any suggestions anyone might have.  Thanks!

I'm new to this forum but I thought I would attach a file for a summary physics 11 lab I created for the end of the year. I use Hotwheels equipment (less than $150 for a class set) and try to cover many of the topics, however the focus is projectiles. I like labs where kids have fun, they learn, and if they are precise in their work they will get rewarded with proper results. If you want any more info on this lab or have some comments to make it better please feel free to let me know. For anyone who might use this lab how about posting some of your ready to go useful labs rather than link after link to websites. Stop hoarding lets share our work!!

Here is a document (index) that I created for the Ph12 Provincial Exams, however, you need to have the exams in your computer in order for the links to work.

Also, the link to the Atwood Pulley Simulation is https://www.msu.edu/user/brechtjo/physics/atwood/atwood.html

Steve: I was hoping to find a link to the archive of PH 12 Prov Exam questions that you mentioned on Friday and a link to the Atwood's machine simulation. I found Mr.Dueck's Physics with a simple google like you said.

Thanks for hosting Friday's workshop. Every time I have attended one of your sessions I walk away with something new to bring into the classroom.
